senior ball

Another story about another dance. Any surprise there? I feel like I only write about dances anymore but they are always interesting, and I always take a lot of pictures... so they make for the perfect blog post.

This dance was a good one with one of my best friends Ben!

Me and my best friend slept over the night before, so that consisted in a very limited amount of sleep. We stayed up all night watching chick flicks (10 things I hate about you aka BEST MOVIE EVER). We had approximately three hours of sleep but we woke up to WAFFLES so all was well.

We got picked up and headed up to Brian Head for our day date. The drive up consisted of loud music, dancing, singing, and chocolate milk which obviously makes for the perfect drive. When we reached the mountain we went tubing. As we were tubing we tried to do our handshake down the slope which resulted in almost crashing MULTIPLE times. The times we did not try though, I definitely beat everyone in the race. Even though they would argue with that.

The rest of the day went just as well. Ate lunch at our 'typical' place, BRADS! You can never go wrong with some hamburger and fries. Oh, and while we were there we found some.. quarter machines! And we got some pretty dang sexy tattoos. We made them into tramp stamps (no worries they were fake mom). Also got some pretty sweet rings, you can call them our engagement rings, best friend rings whatever! hah

After we got home it was time for the stressful part of getting ready for the dance. Putting the boutonniere on. And trying to take a "normal picture" which was extremely hard for us, but we managed to get in a few. Afterwards, while everyone tried to decide where to eat we decided to ditch the group. We headed to random fast food places and took some random pictures. We got some really weird looks and comments but it made it all the more funny. Finally we headed to our last destination and guess what? we found quarter machines:) we got some rebel tattoos which described the day spot on hah.

We ate dinner at Sakura and I was not disappointed. I had only gotten sushi there (which it has some of the best sushi) but this time I decided to change it up a bit. Still amazing!

The dance was fun and after the dance was even better because we ended the night with my favorite movie! 10 things I hate about you.. I KNOW I AM OBSESSED!

Senior ball was definitely one to remember. Had some of my best friends in my group, and met some new people that I would have never really met otherwise. Dances always are a win win. As you can see they were all pretty jealous of my 50 cent engagement ring;) just kidding but all of our pictures showing off our rings will forever be my favorite. Until next time! Which may just be another dance again, maybe. I would not be surprised.

preference

So this week was not too bad. School started up again but it was bound to happen sooner or later. We are half way done I CAN DO THIS. Or so people tell me.

So the highlight of this week was preference. If I am being honest I was a bit nervous. Friday night about 11:30 our plans fell through and we were kind of freaking out. We all met up grouchy and tired. After a bit of music and treats we became a bit more alive. We figured out a plan and it turned out to be really fun!

We came up with the idea of doing a picture scavenger hunt. We met up, split into groups and all rushed into our cars. Every second counted and WE WERE NOT GOING TO LOSE.

What we had to do was..
- take a picture of all St. George
- take a video dancing in front of the high school
- take a video doing the mannequin challenge
- take a picture of a stylish outfit on from a thrift store
- take a picture of a yogurt sample at least two inches tall
- take a picture sitting on a couch
- take a picture playing on a playground
- take a picture with a missionary
- take a video in a cart going down the grocery aisle
- take a picture holding a flag from a golf course
- take a picture with a cop
- take a video doing a Chinese fire drill
- take a picture reading a book
- take a video hiding plastic posts
- take a video hopping down a crosswalk
- take a picture in front of a water feature
- take a video pretending you are from the future
- take a picture tipping someone

OKAYY sorry that was incredibly long.

We raced around town because we were going to finish this first. We almost got into MULTIPLE wrecks. A lot of them were because of my date hah. People yelled at us, glared at us, got really annoyed, and got kicked out of some stores but it made it all the more fun! Whoever got to swig first won, obviously that was us. The other team was not too happy about that. They tried to call us cheaters, and make excuses.. but excuses do not change results:)

This is my first attempt EVER to make a video so do not judge;) even though I am actually quite proud of it

The rest of the dance was just as good! We took pictures in the down town parking garage. Earlier that week it had snowed and for St. George that is EXTREMELY RARE. Pictures were freezing! Lucky me I brought a blanket but by the end of the night it was stolen. If you are wondering why we are ALWAYS in the middle its because my date was the tallest. He was 6'7 so heels were not a problem.

After pictures we headed to Rigatti's for dinner. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. It was some of the most amazing pizza EVER. Later we headed to the dance. We danced until we ALMOST dropped. And we ended the night with some ice cream and beer pong. No worries it was only water but we made it totally disgusting. Adding chocolate syrup, spices, etc. It was awful but we had many many good laughs.

PREFERENCE 2017
My date was so much fun and it definitely was one my favorite dances. I had a group with all of my best friends which made it 12389x better! One thing I have learned from high school is to laugh at yourself, and be yourself. Sometimes we get into these awkward moments or try to impress people. The best you can do is BE YOURSELF. Find friends that you can be yourself around and love you for it. Don't change yourself. I have definitely found these friends, which is why having us all in the same group was so much fun. I lam so grateful for all the memories and friendships that are made in high school. Even  though junior year is a lot of hard work, all the memories are oh so worth it.
   MAKE EVERY MOMENT COUNT!

hello 2017

This year was one of the toughest years of my life. I faced many trials but I grew in so many different ways.

2016 was a year full of lessons
I learned (more) patience
I learned that goodbyes are one of the most difficult things
I learned who I can trust
I learned who my real friends are
I learned that junior year SUCKS
I learned how to push through trials
I learned how to always think about the positive even if it seems impossible
I learned that the gospel brings happiness
I learned how to develop trust in my Heavenly Father

This year brought many difficulties and trials to my life. I am learning daily how to push through them. Every trial is made to help you become stronger. I am forever grateful for this year because, I met some of the most AMAZING people that have blessed my life so much.

NOW FOR 2017

Wow i am so ready for this new year. There are so many things I want to accomplish this year. I always suck at New Years Resolutions. COMPLETELY AWFUL actually. They last about one week then I give up. So instead of doing huge goals this year, I want to make them somewhat sensible.

This year I want to develop more patience. One thing I have always struggled with is having patience. I have learned BETTER patience but this year I want to continue to gain more.

This year I want to reach out to others, be there for everyone. I want to become more outgoing and show love for strangers.

This year I want to help others also, I have always wanted to do a humanitarian project. Even if it's unlikely to do it this year, I can help in different ways.

This year I want to FINISH A BOOK! Its been way way too long since I have. I really just want to read Harry Potter again, my year will be complete.

This year I want to take more photos. To capture all the good moments happening in my life. I also want to create more GREAT memories!!

This year I need to become better at writing. BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN SLACKING!

I could literally go on and on about goals I want to accomplish... but I better keep this list short if I am going to keep it realistic.

LETS HOPE THIS YEAR IS THE BEST YET
