This New Year was by far the best I have ever had, for obvious reasons we will soon discuss (if you have not guessed yet). On New Years I woke up in my favorite place at Greyson's family cabin knowing nothing of what was going to happen in just a few short hours. In the morning Greyson's family and I went to his grandparent's cabin to eat breakfast. We stuffed ourself with way too many delicious pancakes and of course HOT CHOCOLATE aka my weakness, then we went sledding. However, it was absolutely freezing outside so I stood up on the top of the hill cuddled up in my blanket with my brother while everyone else went sledding. We took cover but it was still FREEZING! Finally, I decided to take a couple of rides down the sledding hill then hid out in the warm car. The rest of the day we played games, watched movies, ate, made a Harry Potter skit, then it was time to get ready for pictures. Greyson had told me about a month ago that his mom wanted to have pictures of me and Greyson and his sister and her boy friend since we did not have many together. His sister texted a couple weeks later confirming the plan. The original plan was we were going to go hiking then take them at an over look, but it was too windy so we took them in Pine Valley instead. We picked up the photographer and drove to the reservoir. The photographer positioned me and Greyson on a bridge and started taking pictures of us. Then Greyson told me he had a pose he had been wanting to do for a long time and I saw him reach for his pocket.... my mouth DROPPED (not kidding). And it stayed dropped for a while. I had so many thoughts racing through my head as he dropped to his knee and pulled out a ring! A ring like one with a diamond on it and he said some stuff, but I was in so much shock I could not even comprehend what was going on. My mouth hung open then without even thinking about it I screamed YES! I could not believe he had pulled that off and I had no idea... I kept reminding him of that too. When I thought back on it, it was so obvious! He kept missing randomly, all the continuous texting and not allowing me to touch his phone, my parents were coming up for "dinner", all the signs were there, but I was so surprised. When we got back to the car I was still in shock. We slowly made our way back to the cabin and when we finally walked inside I went to show my mom my ring. Then from behind me all of my best friends came out to surprise me! I started crying, everything was so perfect and I was so happy. Greyson made the proposal more special than I could have possibly imagined and the fact he did it in my favorite place with my family and friends back at the cabin to surprise me made it even better!
We spent the rest of the night celebrating with cake and ice cream, chili, sledding with all my best friends, and a game of miniature golf. A game I will get to play with Greyson, MY FIANCE, forever!
I cannot wait to marry my best friend. I have been dreaming of this day since I first met him three years ago. I knew from the very beginning he was something special and I wanted him in my life forever. May 25th, cannot come soon enough!
2019 is off to the BEST start yet!
I already know one of my New Year resolutions: marry the man of my dreams;)
