For the 4th of July, we were able to head up to Blanding for a couple days to spend some time with my family. I never had the opportunity to live next to family, but it always makes it more special when we make the 7 hour trip over to see them. It's always super crazy. The place is over occupied with children and dogs. It's a little insane at times, but it makes for an exciting trip.
It's never the most relaxing trip ever but it's always non-stop fun. Which was EXACTLY what I needed. It was filled with family, babysitting (the most adorable kids), pickleball, settlers of catan, biking, exploring the canyon, food, and reading in the sun.
By the end of the day we were always so tired. It was so nice outside (we had to take advantage of the 80 degree weather) we would sit outside the house; playing kick the can, throwing a football, talking, and eating lots. When it got dark we would pull up a grill on the grass and have smores. I am so grateful for this crazy family of mine. They can keep me entertained for hours and hours. Although most people would not find our sense of humor "normal" hah. Normals boring though right?
The fourth of July is my favorite part of summer. There are so many traditions that are involved that make it so special. One of my favorite being is the parade. My cousin who I have looked up to for as long as i can remember is always in the parade. Which means I get dragged along with her. Some years have been better than others (being a scare crow on a float definitely WAS NOT my favorite) but holding her little girl in the fire truck was definitely the best one yet.

The night of the fourth we headed to the park. It was filled with music, and a whole lot of food. Me and my family jammed so hard and danced to the band. We ended the night watching the fire works. It was such a good fourth.
and just like that my favorite holiday is over
I am so grateful for this country
