HEY ITS ME LEXIE. A 17 YEAR OLD. NO BIG DEAL.
actually ya, its a big deal.
because THAT IS SO OLD.
like remember when you were a kid and someone told you they were 17 and you were like
WOAH. RESPECT.
WOAH. RESPECT.
except kids still don't respect me... maybe i need to stop acting like a child haha.
anyway.
today was a great day to turn 17.
It was spent with my family and friends with a whole lot of food.
The day before my birthday we had a family birthday party. We had a BBQ and cake and ice cream. So obviously, it was a great day.
The next day (my actual birthday) I had to go to school. At least this time I had a fairly valid excuse to miss a few classes. For lunch we headed to one of my favorite places in this town of mine, Judds. Of course, we ate lots and had to have our annual, unintentional, dysfunctional photoshoot.
My friends helped me push through this long school day, bless up.
Every year my family tries to throw a surprise party, I would have thought they would've learned by now.. they are the worst at keeping secrets. It was fun to frustrate them by all the questions I had been asking.
After hours of homework and practice it was finally time. My brother came to pick me up and we drove to pizza factory, getting lost multiple times, and getting about a dozen phone calls from my mom. As I walked in, three people sat in the lonely room. "WHAT A BIG TURN OUT" (I said outloud). Then behind me came a small burst of laughter followed by a loud burst of "SURPRISE". I was surprised after all. We ate WAY too much, and talked for hours. The waiters hated our constant screaming and spills but I loved every moment of it.
Sixteen was a rollar coaster. I had high moments but with those came the low of the low. Even with those moments, I wouldn't take them back.
NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SAY THAT.
Sixteen may have been one of the hardest years, but I had some of the BEST moments of my entire life. I gained my freedom of driving, gained everlasting friendships, and maybe even gained a few pounds.
