Psych! We are moving to Mexico

If you have read the title of this post you know the big news.
WE OUR MOVING TO MEXICO!!!
Wait what, weren't we supposed to move to China in three weeks? Yes, yes we were.
This has been one stressful month. I cannot even begin.
In the end of June we got a phone call from our program's office telling us our school unfortunately closed down in China that we were supposed to teach at. We were sooo disappointed. But we were hopeful because the program told us we were their top priority and we were getting a spot NO MATTER WHAT, and they were hopeful they could place us in another China school.

Fast forward to a few weeks later...

Once again we got a call from our programs office. This time the news was even worse. They told us our chances of going were becoming slim and we had a 50/50 chance of teaching in the Fall semester at all. I WAS SHATTERED. First of all, I had been preparing for this move for over a year and Greyson and I were so excited to go on this adventure together. We had sold our lease to our apartment, we were packing up our stuff to move into my parents for a couple of weeks, we both had put our two weeks in at our jobs, I turned down dozens of shoots, and we had not applied for any scholarships, and had not applied to any schools. So pretty much we were scared of what we would do if we did not go. Obviously we would have figured it out, but dang staying home would have been disappointing.

Fast forward to a few weeks later...

We got a call from the programs office saying they were able to find us a spot. Greyson was on the phone with him and I saw his face looked disappointed. He then told me the only place we were offered was Mexico. Like what? Mexico? I had been a few times and I was planning on not coming back. I was not even leaving North America. However, we told them we would go. I was really down about this relocation, but after searching our city and past volunteers for hours.. I WAS IN LOVE! This Mexico is nothing like I have experienced before. The culture looks inviting, our host family looks amazing, the children look adorable, and the food looked so delicious! We suddenly found ourselves more excited for Mexico than we ever were for China.

After hours of prayers, waiting for a decision on where we would go or what we would do, we really feel Mexico is where we are supposed to go.
Greyson is so excited to live in Latin America again and to use his Spanish.
We will now be exploring the prettiest places I have ever seen.
We will be eating delicious street tacos instead of chicken feet.
And we will be able to experience Mexico TOGETHER.

We can't complain. We our feeling pretty blessed of how we get to spend our first six months of being married.

WE ARE MOVING TO MEXICO AND WE COULD NOT BE MORE EXCITED! We leave August 21st and will return home right before Christmas.

Adios!

My first concert

To be honest I always thought concerts were overrated.
I will never think that again...

A LIVE CONCERT IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I mean I have been to no name, college concerts, but those are what made me believe concerts were not worth going to.
For my birthday, Greyson surprised me to tickets for Shawn Mendes. I cried when I opened the present because I have always wanted to go to a concert and Shawn Mendes is my favorite artist. It was a long 3 months of waiting, but the day finally came.

It was worth the wait!

Greyson and I took a road trip to Salt Lake City to go to the concert. We jammed to Shawn Mendes the whole way up and sang at the top of our lungs. We had to make sure we knew every song that he had ever written so we were prepared for this day.

I am happy to write that we were totally prepared.

When we arrived at the concert I had no idea who the girl was who opened for Shawn. I recognized one of her songs, but not enough to stand up and dance to. But as soon as I heard "Stitches" start to play I FREAKED OUT! I got so excited. Greyson and I danced and sang to every song. Did I mention we were SO CLOSE! The entire night I just felt so happy and so blessed to be married to Greyson. He means the world to me and I am so happy I get to experience these moments with him forever. The entire night we screamed to every song. We laughed and we cried and we had a really good time.

The concert came to an end way too fast. But at least the end was absolutely amazing. I am proud to say I cried during the last song. Shawn Mendes closed with "In My Blood" and we all sang along with him and at the very end the entire stadium blew up with confetti and balloons. Thats when the tears came. Greyson thought it was funny of how emotional I got, but I could not help myself. IT WAS TOO GOOD.

I can now 100% agree that concerts are not overrated and they are WORTH IT! Definitely recommend and I will now attend them way more frequently. Without a doubt.

It was such a good weekend with my love. We even went to a zoo, so that was cool too. hah

Much love, remember to attend concerts!
