washington DC

Welcome !!
to the Lovell family 2018 spring break extravaganza
it is kind of you to join me today, all I ask of you is to sit back, relax, and enjoy the many pictures that are coming your way;)

Washington DC was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I LOVED IT! The architecture of all the memorials and buildings was so insane, and the dozens of museums we went to all were extremely interesting (and I’m not a huge museum person). Now, I say it is a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ because I don't know if I can ever go back hahaha. I absolutely hate cities I have realized. I hate all the traffic, the impatient drivers who are ALWAYS honking, the crowded streets, and the trashed sidewalks. I am a little biased tho, I have always been more of a small town type of girl.

Anyway, my family and I walked many miles every day to take in all the sights. We ate the most fantastic food everyday (I do not think I had one bad meal), we nearly froze to death, so we went on a shopping spree, and we somehow talked ourselves out of two of our three tickets!

Obviously, this trip was a success:)

As we were walking around the city, there was this obsessed little girl taking pictures every second. She would stop in the middle of the street and crouch done to capture the perfect shot and nearly caused an accident once. All she needed was an “I <3 WASHINGTON DC” t-shirt, and she would’ve been your basic tourist.

But no worries that shirt cost way too much

So I did not get it lol

Yep, I am talking about me.
While my brother and I were lost traveling the vast city, we decided to have a little photoshoot. Here is the product. If you want Alec for any future modeling business, he cost $5 an hour.
HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE MUSEUM WAS THE HOLOCAUST! It was incredibly sad, but I have always had a huge interest in it. Warning these exhibits are a tear jerker, but I 100% recommend it. This picture is of tiles holocaust children drew depicting their emotions.
THE LINCOLN MEMORIAL WAS MY FAV
my future home:)
This is a very accurate representation of what my family looked like the whole time . IT WAS FREEZING. 10+ layers were needed at all times.
inside the capitol building. i was obsessed with this architecture!
enjoy the pics, i risked my life to capture these. literally.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
and everyone else too

learning about studio lighting

hello, my name is lexie lovell and i am addicted to stress.

i really believe there should be a support group for stressed out high school seniors who constantly worry about everything (which is most of the time absolutely nothing).

i guess that is what friend group chats are for anyway

okay, okay, this year i have S.L.A.C.K.E.D. on taking pictures. i was beginning to take my camera everywhere (literally) and i was capturing everything and i was so happy. but life responsibilities began pushing their way through and eventually won. i do not intend on letting this happen anymore. luckily, i have a photography class where i have been able to capture a few photos here and there.

RECENTLY IN PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS 101

studio lighting:

WOW. who knew so much money and equipment went into finding the perfect lighting. I SURE DID NOT. i thought the sun was the key to all of this glorious lighting, but guys we are living a lie. behind the scenes are lights, big black boxes, silver reflectors, gold reflectors, shades, oh and sometimes the sun. now most photographers probably do not use all of that, but many do.

i had the chance to use these supplies in class and it was quite enjoyable.
NOW HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THEY????

who would have thought that behind the scenes of this shoot was a dark room, two spotlights, reflectors, and a white wrinkly sheet?

i love taking pictures and really, besides the group message, taking pictures is my own personal support group. i love taking pictures whether it is of sunsets, flowers, my friends, total strangers tattoos or even lemons. hahah.

once again, my goal this year is to improve my photography.
i have many new exciting shoots coming up and i cannot wait to share.

sincerely
the lemon photographer
