I prefer preference

i am tired of busy work, i would rather watch netflix than do homework, attending unnecessary classes is becoming more difficult, when it comes to drama and gossip i would rather hide, and fighting for my senior spot is annoying, but high school dances are good, excellent even. high school dances are one of the things i am going to HANDS DOWN miss about high school.

this dance was just as good as the rest of them. although, i prefer boys choice, cuz i am cheap like that.. but it was all worth it.

this week was dedicated to preference. all week preference royalty had to learn a dance for the annual preference assembly and somehow i got stuck on it. we had to learn a dance, which was tricky, fast, and extremely hard for my uncoordinated self, but it was actually SO FUN. oh, and me and my partner got stuck on the front row in the assembly and surprisingly we did not mess up like we intended too. SO TWO THUMBS UP FOR US!

for the day date, the group met up early in the morning, drove through the snow, thirty minutes away to go to a roller rink. at first we were worried because NOTHING was working out, and i mean it. no one could find skates (especially the three guys with size 14 shoe), the heater was broken so it was freezing, and the speaker was not wanting to work. luckily our luck turned around and everything worked out. roller skating was a blast and me and my date only fell once #blessed.

the rest of the day was dedicated to food, pictures, and the best part of the day.. THE DANCE. once again me and my friends went so hard from the beginning to end and we loved every second of it. three taylor swift songs even played, which brought me and my friends close to tears.

our typical dance picture

we danced, and we cried, and we laughed, and had a really really really good time.

bye!

(if you got that song reference, let's be friends!)

my 2017 books

one of my goals for 2017 was to read and finish a book. the other day i was looking through the books i had read and was completely shocked when i realized how many there were. so since i failed at most of my other resolutions, i am pumped i actually over-achieved on just this one.

so for those who are bookworms like me
THIS POST IS FOR YOU

i love book recommendations, so i thought i would do one myself.

my books from last year were...

1.)  Me Before You**. if you have not seen the movie yet, READ THE BOOK FIRST. because books are always better than the movies! BUT this book was so cute, but WARNING it is a tear jerker.
2.)  A Man Called Ove***. this was definitely one of my favorites. it was so sweet and so so funny. i would sit in my room and you could hear me all night long chuckling. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT.
3.)  Option B*. this book was a little slow, but so informational. it definitely is not a book you can read in one sitting, but i would read a chapter or two every night and take notes... definitely learned many tips i will use in my life.
4.)  The Truth About Forever**. if you like romance, this is a good book! it was one of the better romances i read, it was honestly really good! it's worth a read.
5.)  Sarah's Key*. this book was one of the saddest world war two books you will ever read! i read this book in two days, i could not put it down!
6.)  Love & Gelato**. if you love italy, gelato, and romance... this book is for you! it is a mystery and romance.
7.)  Lilac Girls***. this was one of the best world war 2 books i have read. it had three different perspectives and they all came together in an amazing story.
8.)  Hush Hush series**** (Hush Hush, Silence, Crescendo, Finale). lately i have a hard time finding new series i really like, but this one was literally amazing. it was a mystery and romance. the storyline was so good. i read the whole series in less in a week, now you know it has to be good.
9.)  We Were Liars**. if you like mystery books, this book is for you. i could not put it down because it was so intense/confusing and i had to figure out what happened. anddd wow, it sure has a twist ending.
10.) Blackmoore****. julianne donaldson is an incredible writer. she writes the best romances you will EVER read. they always take place in the 1800's. blackmoore was so good, but it will never beat Edenbrooke (my favorite romance (and book) by her).
11.) Wonder*. this book is super young, but still adorable! i had to read it before i watched the movie, and even if it was young it was still better than the movie.
12.) The Nightingale*****. THIS WAS BY FAR MY FAVORITE BOOK! this book is a world war 2 book & a romance. my two most favorite categories. this book creates a whole new perspective of the war and makes you feel like you are living it. this book is 600 pages and i finished it in two days.
13.) Things We Know By Heart***. this book i finished in only a few hours. i could not put it down. the romance was so pure and cute. and oh my, the boy was so cute & dreamy.
14.) When Breath Becomes Air*. this book was so sad, but inspiring. this book also increased my vocabulary by 20x because he uses such big vocabulary hah. read it! you will not regret it.

btwww i rated the books with stars, and honestly, it was hard not to put five next to all of them!
hope you enjoy them, i know i did.

new year, new me

NEW YEAR, NEW ME, NEW RESOLUTIONS

yes, that is right. with the new year comes new resolutions. WHAT. A. SURPRISE.
now i know most tweeters make a new resolution every year to become a whole new person, but i have made a deal with myself that i will only make "realistic" goals... besides i like who i am. so i am just going to start with new resolutions and we'll see how it goes from there. because i mean, there is always room for improvement.

right now in my life, i am actually very content, but like i said just a second ago.. there is ALWAYS room for improvement. if you believe otherwise, i really need to hear your secret. lol.

anyway, HERE ARE MY GOALS FOR 2018 !!

academics: my senior year is slowly getting the best of me. so my goal right now is to not drop out, i kid i kid (for the most part). this year (and every other year) my main goal for school is not to procrastinate. i have slowly progressed, but i still have a ways to go. my other academic goal is to try to decide what college i want to go to and what the heck i wanna do with my life. decisions, decisions.

spiritual: be more consistent in morning & nightly prayers, and consistently study conference talks.

health: i have been totally slacking on the exercising thing lately and it really upsets me. so this year i want to become better at it again because it makes me feel so much better physically and mentally. also, i want to be able to workout for myself and goals rather than the physical aspects. anddd maybe run a half marathon.

money: this one is easier said than done, i need to save money!! (...maybe spend less on books and clothes).

self: this year i need to use better time management. i often become so stressed because i feel like i have so much to do and not enough time to do it, but i need to realize everything does not need to be done the moment i think it.

hobbies: i love writing on this blog of mine and dang it improved so much this year. i wanna continue to write more and more on it. another hobby of mine i hope to improve on is photography, i love capturing moments in my life and others. i hope to make it more of a business this year and to continue to learn more about it.

talents: okay this year was hectic, but it is no excuse for letting the piano go. this year i need to practice SO MUCH MORE and finish the songs i have been learning.

relationships: last but not least: relationships. this year i want to work on being more kind and patient with everyone.

okay, i just have to throw this one in there, because i don't want to risk letting it go. another goal is to read a book every month.

that's it, folks. i now have three hundred and sixty-three new days to achieve these goals!
best of luck to me & all of you;)

WE GOT THIS!
