goodbye for now

Today, my best friend left to go serve the lord for two years. Me and Greyson did everything together from going on many many adventures, road trips, going to all the highschool games, doing absolutely nothing together, watching Harry Potter so so much, to running errands all over town. One thing we loved to do is miniature golfing (all the time) I wish I could say with all the practice I got to be pretty good.. but no. hah. Practice makes.... progress, for golfing that is as good as it is going to get! He was my best friend and I am so grateful I got to spend the last six months with him (EXACTLY SIX MONTHS ACTUALLY).
Our story is a interesting one. Let me just say "We" were a big surprise. The first time I officially met Greyson we were on our way to the semi-final football game. I knew who he was, but I was a sophomore, and he was a senior so we never hung out. I was always around when I was younger with my friends, and he would be with their older brothers. On the bus I got the chance to sit by him, lucky me. We talked on the bus and if I am being honest, I could not STAND HIM!! I thought he was SO cute, so I didn't mind when he texted me. We made awkward glances in the hall, and very limited conversation for too long. On the first day of Christmas break we finally hung out for the first time on Dec 21, 2015. It wasn't planned, I did not know he would be there, but I ended up being glad in the end. The next day we happened to be together again, and once again, not planned. This day he changed my mind, he was fantastic! We had so much fun. We played pool.... and I "almost" won. He didn't want to go too hard on me, I found out later. hah (I thought he went easy). On December 23 we once again hung out. I was starting to like him quite a bit, and it was such a good day. I was still awkward and shy. Looking back on it now I don't know how he continued talking to me, I was so nervous. To say in the least. That Wednesday we hung out on Dixie rock (talked FOREVER), looked at Christmas lights, grabbed hot chocolate, Walked around downtown, got frozen yogurt, and looked at more Christmas lights! It was a good, good night. He was a perfect gentleman all night, and every night after that. That night he totally surprised me, we kissed. It was my first kiss. We hung out every single day during the break. He became my best friend very quick, and I was falling for him very, very quick. It was a good Christmas break. We hiked the Narrows, Shadow mountain, we went under the tunnels in St. George, played our first (definitely not last) game of miniature golf, hiked snow canyon, explored tunnels, and so much more. We spent New Years together we didn't have too many plans. We ended up hanging out with my friends family and he helped the kids light fireworks. By now I was definitely whipped, and it continued for 6 months..
Our first picture taken together hiking the Narrows

Took a road trip together to watch the state basketball game (and YES WE DID WIN)
He took me to Junior prom (my first formal dance)!! He put up with my awful dancing all night and even joined me.
We never missed a soccer or baseball game
Most of graduation I spent sick in the bathroom but it was so worth coming to see him! I dont know
what i'll do next year without all of our lunch dates and "study sessions" during seminary! hah
We spent almost every day together during the summer. When we weren't trying to complete something on our bucketlist we would still have fun doing absolutely nothing! On his last 4 days we spent 3 of them taking quick road trips and going on adventures. we conquered our bucketlist!
Greyson was called to leave to Argentina June 22, 2016. It was easily the hardest thing I have ever done saying goodbye. He has one of the strongest testimonies I know, and the biggest heart. He will do such amazing things in Argentina.
see you soon Elder Chamberlain, I love you.
